Enjoy 360 degrees of paradise. Use this as your base to sample the bird watching wetlands of the region. The 255 sq metre terrace on the fifth floor backs onto the protected wetlands of Isla Canela. The area is attractive to a good variety of waders, gulls and terns all year round. Largest numbers congregate during the passage periods and the winter. The apartment has excellent views over the salt marshes, good views of the shore at Playa del Moral and the marsh entrance.
From here travel to the Marismas del Odiel with its tidal salt marshes located beyond Huelva and a good place to watch flamingos, spoonbills, shea and skuas as well as eagles, kites and harriers.
Easily accessible as well as being based on the Guadiana estuary are the areas of Marismas del Rio Piedras, Laguna del Portil, Donana, Sierra Pelada, and Western Sierra Morena. Further afield is the Extremadura province of Badajoz.
In Badajoz you will find the natural park of Cornalvo. The park is home to red and black kites, griffon and black vultures, ravens, shrikes and booted eagle. Short-toed eagles are also present.
